Polar Cruise Ships
Capacity: 12

A homely ship of maritime historical dignity, already loved by many. She is decorated in a classic style with an old fashioned Captains lounge and beautiful wooden decks. A perfect ship for a small group of photographers that need a lot of deck space, or a small family group looking for adventure.

M/S Malmö was built 1943 in Helsingborg shipyard for the Swedish Maritime Administration and was, as the ice-strengthened pilot ship she is, in service for many years. During 2013/2014, she was gently refurbished to retain her original charm. While new navigational and safety equipment was installed. The vessel meets all standards and requirements regarding safety and coastal navigation such as we undertake it in Svalbard. She carries two Mark V Zodiacs for guest use. M/S Malmö has a lovely patina, and she has been listed in Sweden as “a traditional ship of cultural value” since 2004.

M/S Malmö has a legal maximum guest capacity of 12. There are four bunk-bed double cabins with en-suite, one triple cabin with en-suite and three bunk-bed double cabins with shared facilities. The public areas consist of a lecture room / salon (shared with the crew), a dining and bar area, an aft deck with furniture, and further deck space behind the bridge and on the bow.
